The power of the sun
The largest project to date, however, is the photovoltaic system with 362 solar modules on the roof of the hall that went into operation this year. The 99.5 kWp PV system now produces at least 87,000 kWh of electricity annually. Approx. 45,000 kWh of this is used for the company's own needs. This corresponds to about 52%. The rest is fed into the grid. The nice thing is: The self-produced electricity is free from nuclear power, free from fossil fuels and free from rising electricity prices. In other words, this electricity yield corresponds to 12,000 kg of hard coal that does not have to be burned to generate electricity.
